The CHRO Shared Network is much more than a network –
it is a shared experience

The one-year experience is comprised of a unique blend of learning methods – with peers who face the same opportunities, and curated to the needs of both the group and each person

At a time when senior HR leader roles are getting even more complex, most executive development is not personal. This experience makes it a point to be in-person and uniquely shared.

The Shared Network is for CHROs, Chief People Officers, and senior HR executives of major business units.

The outcomes are greater personal impact, business performance, and team engagement

The shared network experience builds on insight and includes paths for further personal development and community networking

The specific agenda for the year is set by the group and facilitated by the Lead Coach, who works with each individual to understand their goals. These individual goals are then synthesized into a recommended game plan for group discussion and activation.

What makes this experience different from others CHRO networks?

executiveDRUM HR experiences share equal focus on the work of HR and overall business strategy, and are well-rooted in adult learning principles. The experience is local and in-person.

Participants operate within small cohorts, over time, to engage in rich, facilitated discussion, while concurrently engaging in individual coaching targeted to the person’s unique needs. The experience lends itself to powerful group dynamics and some fun. A shared network is formed as a result. This network is kept alive into the future, with purpose, and expands as cohorts culiminate.

What can I expect in a network group meeting?

Network meetings are light on presentation. They are actively facilitated discussions about urgent matters in HR. Between meetings, there are reading and listening opportunities for the group, and speakers are invited when it makes sense, and never to sell anything. Meetings are 3 hours long, which includes some social time and breaks. All members agree on discretion and we work hard to ensure competitors are not in the same cohort.

What can I expect from an executive coaching meeting?

Executive coaching is an opportunity for personal insight as you tackle important work and life goals. These 90 minute meetings begin with setting goals for the specific meeting, within the context of the broader goals of the CHRO network member. Topics range from deeply strategic to deeply personal. While the Coach guides the conversation, the CHRO sets the priorities.

The Lead Coach brings a unique set of experiences across HR executive roles, consulting, coaching and counseling. He knows the boundaries and manages them so that the discussion is focused on coaching and the member’s development.

What is the return-on-investment?

CHROs are accountable for big goals, expensive labor dollars, culture shifts, and change initiatives. An explicit objective of the CHRO Shared Network is to accelerate problem-solving and to help leaders account for risk. Participants become stronger problem solvers, which yields value. They benefit from a group that operates as a resource and to exchange solutions that drive efficiency and impact.

Who is an ideal participant?

Participants are CHROs, Chief People Officers, or senior HR executives within a large organization. The pre-registration process accounts for calibrating the level of participants so that the cohort ‘hangs-together’ nicely as a peer group. We ensure competitors are not in the same cohort, and that company size/complexity is considered.

How will I know that the content is best aligned to my needs and interests?

In short, we have a POV and then shape it as a group. As the network launches, the Lead Coach meets with each member to discuss needs and interests, then brings a customized agenda and game plan to the group for discussion and agreement.

Tell me more about the logistics and the time commitment.

Our network meetings are local, and in-person. A central location is identified based on the proximity of the members – usually an upscale conference space in a fine hotel. Food and drink is provided for all group meetings and network events. Individual coaching sessions are usually done virtually, but can be in person based on timing. Network members are also welcome to host a meeting should they desire.

Meetings are scheduled well in advance. Participants should expect 2-6 hours of focused time per month, and will have optional reading and engagement beyond that.
