The Emerging HR Executive experience is comprised of a unique blend of learning methods – curated in one dynamic program, with a cohort of peers
This experience is best for those in their first executive role (new to being a director or VP, depending on your structure). Participants are now leading HR across multiple business groups and/or HR functions.

The outcome is greater personal impact, performance and engagement

The four-month cohort experience builds on insight and concludes with paths for further personal development and community networking
Given participants can be new to some functional areas of HR, the technical topics of HR will be explored. For example, a new Director may be leading a Learning leader for the first time. Our content will account for technical leadership, given the needs of the group.

What makes this experience different from others?
executiveDRUM HR experiences are well-rooted in adult learning principles and share equal focus on the work of HR and overall business strategy. The experience is local and in-person.
Participants operate within small cohorts, over time, to engage in rich, facilitated discussion, while concurrently engaging in individual coaching targeted to the person’s unique needs. The experience lends itself to powerful group dynamics and some fun. A shared network is formed as a result. This network is kept alive into the future, with purpose, and expands as cohorts culiminate.
What is the return-on-investment?
Participants connect dots between HR work and business needs. They develop personal insights into their leadership and enjoy goal setting for their real-life work. They enjoy a cohort that operates a resources for problem-solving. Together, business impact accelerates and value is generated.
What makes an ideal participant?
Participants are new HR executives. They might be a few years into the executive space, in year one, or about to jump into their first executive position. Most have a minimum of seven years of HR experience, and are currently supporting sizable organizations and/or transformations. Participants are likely new to director or VP roles (depending on the structure of their company) and are now leading HR areas or business areas that are new to them.
What do you mean by ‘ongoing network’ after the four-month experience?
As cohorts conclude their four-month experience, they enjoy ongoing gatherings, learning and social events with other cohort ‘graduates’ from their area. These are included for the first year.
How will I know that the content is best aligned to my needs and interests?
In short, we have a POV and then shape it as a group. As the program launches, the Lead Coach meets with each participant to discuss needs and interests, then brings a recommendation to the group for discussion and agreement.
Tell me more about the logistics and time commitment.
Our cohort meetings are local, and in-person. A central location is identified based on the proximity of the cohort members – usually an upscale conference space in a fine hotel. Food and drink is provided for all group meetings and network events. Individual coaching sessions are usually done virtually, but can be in person based on timing.
Meetings are scheduled well in advance. Participants should expect 4-6 hours of focused time per month, and will have optional reading and engagement beyond that.
